    Breaking up with my TV

I think I have to break up with my TV. It’s nothing personal, but I feel like it’s become a dysfunctional relationship.

Case in point, last night I had a list of items I wanted to accomplish:
    1. Put away clothes
    2. Clean bathroom
    3. Unload/load dishwasher
    4. Pick out my work clothes for the next day
    5. Pack my lunch
Once everything on my list was crossed off I sat down with the intention of watching *one* episode of The Model Agency.

I ended up watching four episode.

    Dun dun dun.

It was this horrible cycle where an episode would end and I would just pick up the remote and turn on the next episode (I have a PVR). In a blink of an eye, 9pm became 11:30pm - and I should have been in bed at 10pm (I have been getting up at 5am recently).

    Frig.

I had full control over control to bed, but I chose not to turn the TV off. So, I have to break off my relationship with the ‘idiot box’. My intention is to do an experiment where I evaluate not watching any TV until the beginning of next month and see how I feel about it.

I miss Top Chef already. Le sigh.

    1. I love my tv so I opted to find the lesser of two evils by exercising while watching tv. I also do chores while I watch tv too.

I hate watching TV - for the reasons stated above. I stopped watching it a long time ago. Now I'm addicted to the internet... But since I work and go to school on a computer - I can't step away quite so easily. I just have to stay away from google reader :)

    3. That's a good idea! I think I will attempt to integrate it again in the same manner when I finish my TV fast.

    5. At one point, I believed that televisions were secretly trying to brainwash and undermine the good intentions of people everywhere. Just kidding. Maybe. :)

    6. I think I'm more on board with that idea than I'd like to admit. I have a whole rant I go on when I get talking about romantic comedies and how they set people up for failure in the long run if they think of them as anything but amusing trite. Anyhoo, don't get me started! ;)
