Stategies for my weight loss - Part 3

    First, a rant…

While sitting in my car this morning, I snapped this photo:

Do you know what that is? It's frost. Frost I had to scrape off my windows. Sigh.

    Dear Edmonton Weather,

You suck. It's April. Get with the program. I refuse to wear my winter jacket in the morning anymore. I am tired of having to watch out for ice on the sidewalks. There is still snow in my front yard. You need to deal with these issues ASAP.

    Sincerely,
    Natasha.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled program.

I have once again decided to only weigh myself once a month. Why? Because I really, really, really want to weigh myself every day. Each time I walk past my scale I want to step on it. But, this is a problem for two reasons:

    1. I can see how the number on the scale could alter my daily happiness.
    2. Change isn't always reflected by how much I weigh.

By only checking my measurements and weight once a month I can focus my attention on my daily goals that will facilitate the change as opposed to being focused on the change itself.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Do you weigh yourself every day? Every week? Does it work for you? Would you consider changing to a monthly weigh in? Let me know your thoughts.

    Have a beautiful day!

    1. I should start off saying I was a new reader to your blog before you "disappeared". I'm happy to see you back. :) Your first post really spoke to me because I too gained back all but 10 pounds of a 40 pound loss back in 2008-2009. I fell back into bad habits and laziness and this past month I have slowly eased myself back into fitness and focusing on that rather than what I'm stuffing in my face. haha One day at a time.....

I was usually a weekly weigher (blame it on WW) but this time around, I'm going to focus more on how I feel and how my clothes fit...at least for now. I'm all about making lifestyle choices I can live with and personally I can't live without cookies, cake, pizza, burgers (i.e. bad foods).

I'm sure most people on a weight loss journey will tell you to weigh yourself regularly (although not every day) but when you become too obsessed with the scale (or anything for that matter) it's never a good thing.

Sorry for the long post, but wanted to let you know I'm glad you're back! I can't wait to read more from you. Hopefully I can encourage you along the way!

    2. Hi Natasha,
I am also pretty terrible with the scale except when the going gets tough for me, the scale gets dusty! I think weighing in as often as you feel you need to is just fine. I use my scale as a means of rewarding myself when things are going well and slapping myself with some reality after I've hidden from it for awhile. Unfortunately, today was a slap in the face day!

    3. I weight myself twice a day because I'm crazy!!

I weight before bed and when I get up in the morning.

I need to cut back to ONCE a WEEK!

    4. I have been there before! I think I'm going to have to move my scale because I'm tempted to step on it every time I'm in my bathroom.
